During my recent transit in Smalley, I stayed at St Michaels Inn and had a pleasant experience. The hospitality and friendliness of the staff were exceptional, making me feel welcomed and well taken care of. the cleanliness of the hotel was commendable, ensuring a comfortable stay.
Although the owners have plans for future upgrades, the slightly uncomfortable mattress and pillow were the only minor downsides during my stay.

We stayed one night for a wedding nearby, and St Michaels Inn was the perfect location for us. The double room was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The owner went above and beyond by driving us to the wedding venue the next morning to collect our car. The newly renovated room had a modern and stylish theme that we loved. The inn is conveniently located, making it easy to get to the train station and St Andrews by bus. The restaurant offered a wonderful menu with a unique blend of local Scottish and Spanish/Mexican flavors. The attentive staff made us feel spoiled and taken care of. We hope to return in the future to experience this hospitality again.
We recommend this hotel.

I've never experienced such a warm welcome at any accommodation before. The couple who own St Michaels Inn are incredibly nice and accommodating. Their plans for the inn are very intriguing, and it feels like there are exciting things to come. If you're visiting St Andrews but don't want to stay in town or can't find accommodation there, St Michaels Inn is a fantastic choice. The bus stop is right outside the door, with buses running frequently throughout the day, providing easy connections to Dundee and Leuchars. The inn also has a charming bar, and I've heard great things about the restaurant.
Limited breakfast menu with no full cooked breakfast available. The scrambled eggs on toast would have been fine, but unfortunately, the bread was mouldy.

Limited hanging space for clothes in the room.
